Hollywood heavyweight Clint Eastwood has long made his home base about 330 miles north of Los Angeles, in California’s picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea. The four-time Oscar winner, who once served as the mayor of the famously dog-friendly coastal town, currently resides at Tehàma, an exclusive 2,000-acre private residential enclave in the hills of Carmel that he himself founded. But in the 1980s and ‘90s he owned a Tuscan villa just up from Carmel Beach that’s now on the market for $21 million. The stone-clad home, built 100 years ago and now known as Los Ondas (The Waves), showcases ocean views from its well-appointed rooms and numerous balconies and terraces. And back in Los Angeles, a three-story 1920s Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Hills, designed by Swiss-born architect Franz Herding, has been home to several other showbiz legends, including Ava Gardner, Laurence Olivier and Stan Hardy.
