Does this sound all familiar? Gray, foggy but warm, again; snow on track for tomorrowThe cloudiest January is still going on for the rest of this week. Thursday will be a bit warmer than today, with highs in the lower 20s to lower 30s. Light snow possible Thursday evening into Friday in much of Minnesota besides the northwestern part of the state.

Watch: What did Winona Ryder do in Winona, Minn? For a Super Bowl ad for the online platform Squarespace, Winona Ryder visited her namesake Minnesota town earlier this month. In the three-minute spot, Ryder travels throughout Winona capturing images of her birthplace as she builds her website, WelcometoWinona.com.

A Somali mom had her kids taken from her by child protective services. Somali community is asking why. Nimo Khalif, a widow who came to America from a refugee camp in Kenya in 2014, had been raising her six children alone in East Grand Forks. Suddenly, the kids were in the custody of Polk County child protective services. The mom would describe it as a “kidnapping.” Read more on this story from Sahan Journal.

Meet this year’s champion team of Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Musher Ryan Redington and his team crossed the finish line Tuesday to win the 300-mile race from Duluth to Grand Portage. It's the second Beargrease title for Redington, who also won in 2018.

Stepfather of slain girl fears teen was wrongfully convicted
