Steve Scalise battling blood cancer

Scalise has cancer: U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise has blood cancer, he said Tuesday. He plans to continue working while he is treated. Scalise, a Republican from Jefferson Parish, is the second highest ranking leader in the House. Mark Ballard has the details. 


$207M for storms: A dozen Louisiana parishes will get $207 million from the Biden administration to fortify themselves against storms, Tyler Bridges reports. White House infrastructure czar and former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced the award, along with U.S. Rep. Troy Carter and other politicos. 


BRPD officer resigns: A Baton Rouge police officer has resigned after he was accused of brutally beating a man inside an interrogation facility dubbed "The Brave Cave."
