Still Time to Participate in Shavathon

Although COVID-19 has forced us to spread Shavathon events across the calendar, it has certainly not dampened our enthusiasm and we’re excited to announce that events will take place at shopping centres across the country until May 2021.

It is very important that you check the venue directory regularly for updates on the Shavathon action in your area, and if you are not sure, please contact our Sustainability crew or email info@cansa.org.za

Adults pay R50 and children u / 12 R25 to spray or shave their hair or donate a ponytail to make a wig for a cancer patient. Help create awareness and we encourage you to share your pics on social media using the hashtags #CANSAShavathon and #CANSA90.

We are determined that you will have the opportunity to shave, spray or donate hair in solidarity with cancer Survivors this year.

Shavathon Hosts

The Shavathon eShop will be closing on 31st March 2021. However, if you would like to host an event after the deadline, please contact Mantoine van Biljon via email: mvbiljon@cansa.org.za

Online Fundraising Champions

We are so proud of our 9 fundraising activists who have already raised R83 510 through their online fundraising projects. Imagine what we could raise if we had 19 fundraising activists for our 90th anniversary!

Online fundraising activists can sign up on the Shavathon website and can challenge their family, friends, and colleagues to support their fundraising efforts. How about raising R900 or R9 000 to celebrate CANSA’s 90th Anniversary!

We also invite corporates to take up the online fundraising challenge with many employees still working virtually.

Online fundraisers are automatically entered into our competition. The top 5 online fundraising activists who raise the most through their fundraising projects by 30 June 2021, will receive fantastic prizes.

Why We Participate in Shavathon

The theme for CANSA’s 2021 Shavathon is ‘Colours Speak Louder than Words’ – CANSA is still caring for cancer patients and loved ones through our support programmes despite COVID-19 and we invite you to show you care too by helping to raise sufficient funds for us to continue to do so.

We truly hope to see you at our Shavathon events or that you will support us by making a donation or becoming an online fundraising champion. If you really can’t make it, you can always pay a ‘bail out fee’.
