And now, the regret settles in. Why, oh why did I leave it to the last minute and fail to publish the perfect April Fool piece this year? Our most-discussed piece this week was a look at a solar power pitch from Money Map Press. I was all ready to give you an update on Dr. Kent Moors and his big pitch for "sand power", because I've seen that ad popping up in my inbox a lot again lately... and, if we're being honest, I wanted to poke a little fun at him because the stock had fallen so far.
But then I realized, on closer look, that he's actually teasing a different company now as his "one solar company for the next ten years" ... so who is it? Click here for the details.
And lithium has also been a hot topic of late, probably because of the hotly anticipated introduction of Tesla's Model 3 and the progress of their Gigafactory (which, as Elon Musk gleefully noted in the Model 3 unveiling, will be bigger than all the other lithium-ion battery factories in the world combined... and have a larger footprint than any other building in the world). The thirst for lithium from this factory has inspired lots of newsletters to tout their favorite lithium stocks, and this week it was JR Crooks hinting at his two favorites -- he calls it "Salt Fuel" and we covered that here.
And the other hot concept that got a lot of teaser attention this week was virtual reality -- probably because the first shipments of the Oculus Rift put it in the headlines again. The new piece this week was from Agora and talked glowingly about how "you'll have dinner with Shakespeare" and do all kinds of other cool stuff in a virtual world, and hinted at Ray Blanco's favorite stock to play that trend. That piece is here.
Strangely enough, the stock Blanco picked for virtual reality is the same one that Michael Robinson has been touting under the banner of "Neural Imprinting" for a few months now -- that ad is also making the round again, and our older article explaining it is here if you missed it.
