WEEKLY UPDATE
January 28-9, 2017
Greetings!

Another week of wild and woolly, though sometimes these days, I must admit, real life in this new political era makes the ridiculous predictions and hype of the newsletter promoters seem a trifle boring.  So what'd ya miss this week in the pages of Stock Gumshoe?   The most discussed piece was when we covered the Motley Fool's "like buying Apple before the iPhone" pitch, that story is here... or read on for the rest of the week that was.

The pitch about "pure carbon" and a special mine in Sweden that's going to satisfy all our battery needs has been floating around for a week or two, and getting some discussion among Gumshoe readers... but I hadn't looked at it until this week, and I found that we've got a somewhat familiar stock being teased, so I decided to write up some Thinkolator answers and do a little more blathering about it for you... that story is here.

We were also blessed with another dose of ridiculous promises from Dr. Kent Moors this week, in the guise of his story about the "Assassin's Mace" and the super-weapon the Navy is developing that, he implies (with a fair bit of gumption, I might add), is somehow controlled by a little $382 million company.  What's he talking about?  Check out my explanation here.

That wasn't all -- we also were graced with the lucrative-sounding idea of "digital rent checks" if you want to become an "internet landlord."  There's some reality behind this selling, and we've covered the general idea before -- but we explain the latest pitch from Personal Finance for you here.

Finally, I got yet another installment of my "Annual Review" out for the Irregulars... that and any other Irregulars-only pieces you might have missed are available below.  Thanks, and have a wonderful final few days of January!
