Stocks mixed as tech rallies and bond yields fall

U.S. stocks opened mixed as the Dow Jones Industrials pulled back, making way for gains in the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite as well as the S&P 500. Investors also digested a $25 billion merger between railroads Canadian Pacific Railway and Kansas City Southern which will create a new freight railway connecting Mexico, the U.S. and Canada.
