As an archivist, no one is ever surprised when I tell them I find stories important — but this week, Jews around the world gather for the express purpose of telling one of the most essential stories to Jewish community identity.

In today’s climate of antisemitism, fact denial, and attempts to once again silence Jewish voices, Jewish stories — and the records we keep of those stories — are more important than ever. The Forward’s archive of texts, photos, and recordings stretch back more than a century, a living, ever-growing resource that connects our past to our future.
