This year's first tropical storm may be brewing

The disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico is slowly getting stronger and will be the first tropical storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season by Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Monday. Here's the latest:
