What can you do on your verge? The City encourages residents, property owners, and managers to maintain their verges for a better-looking suburb and improved biodiversity and wildlife habitat. Homeowners are responsible for mowing, mulching, pruning, weeding, and watering their verge and can install fruit and vegetable planters and hard surface treatments with approval from the City.
Verge improvements can include waterwise design and plantings, low groundcovers, and mulched gardens, among other things. However, some items are not allowed on the verge for safety reasons.
The City is responsible for pruning residential verge trees, and residents can apply for a residential verge tree on the City's website. By maintaining the verge, residents create a more sustainable and attractive community. |
