'Street justice': Was Wednesday morning’s fatal drive-by shooting in Gentilly a measure of “street justice”? The attorney for the man killed, who was on his way to court for a hearing over his alleged involvement in another fatal shooting, tells our Jillian Kramer it was.
160-mph winds: The tornado that tore across Arabi Tuesday night had winds of 160 mph, the National Weather Service says. The twister's path was 11.5 miles long and 320 yards wide - and it sped from Gretna to Arabi to New Orleans East.
About that Zion dunk . . .: Pelicans star basketballer/celebrity Zion Williamson hasn’t played a minute this season as he mends a foot injury. Hear my train a'stayin': A lot of drivers were stuck in a long traffic jam on St. Claude Avenue this morning. The cause? A train that blocked the tracks for around 90 minutes. No surprise – the drivers were plenty miffed, Carlie Wells reports.
All that jazz: Look for the Orleans Parish School Board to give its formal nod to jazz music today. Huh? Yes, apparently the school district actually banned jazz and jazz dancing a century ago, Marie Fazio reports. Guess someone forgot to tell all the teriffic musicians that have come through the school system. Good thing!
