Study: Nearly half of U.S. physician practices are hospital- or corporation-owned

Hospitals and corporate entities acquired 20,900 U.S. physician practices over a two-year period beginning January 1, 2019, according to a study released by the Physicians Advocacy Institute. With those acquisitions, hospitals and corporate entities own 48.4% of physician practices.

The Joint Commission updates telemedicine credentialing requirements

The Joint Commission has made changes to three Medical Staff chapter requirements. Two elements of performance (EP) have been revised and one has been deleted, and they are effective as of July 1.
