ACDIS is moving ahead with plans for its 2021 annual conference slated for Dallas, Texas, next May 17-20 and we’re excited to open the call for speaker proposals. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ACDIS events staff and the volunteer ACDIS events committee will be working to provide the excellent education and community building for this in-person event that those in the CDI profession have come to expect. But we’ll also be building contingency plans should the pandemic proliferate and make physical distancing a continued concern next spring.

We need your help. We need your willingness to share your experiences, to share your expertise, to share your stories about the challenges you’ve faced and the steps you’ve taken to overcome them with your CDI colleagues on the national stage. Click on this link to begin your submission.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis for the 2021 in-person live conference as well as for potential online & virtual events. In order to select a robust agenda ACDIS and the 2021 Events Committee strongly encourage applicants to submit their entries as soon as possible and will begin reviewing applications starting in September. Please submit your application no later than October 1, 2020. Speakers are welcome to submit more than one session but must fill out a separate form for each submission. If you are applying to present with a co-speaker(s), please note that you will be required to submit basic info about them during the application.

Those interested in submitting a proposal will be asked to:

While the presentation draft needn’t be polished, it should be on a blank, white, PowerPoint and include as much detail as possible. Note that speakers are responsible for obtaining copyright permission for any imagery and/or quotes used in their presentations and must be cognizant of potential compliance and/or HIPAA conflicts. ACDIS’ nurse planners have provided valuable information about content creation, development of learning objectives, and incorporating active participation and learning strategies into your presentations. Please review these suggestions as they will strengthen your proposals and final presentations. To review, click here.

Submit your presentation proposal today and share your CDI next steps on the ACDIS stage. If you have any questions please email to Associate Editorial Director Melissa Varnavas at mvarnavas@acdis.org. Please use the subject line “2021 presentation pitch.”
