Suit heaped onto brouhaha over Livingston Parish subdivision

The developers of Deer Run, a subdivision planned to cover some 1,300 acres, have sued the Livingston Parish government, saying its leaders have taken illegal actions to delay and disrupt the project.

Council members are playing politics instead of following their own zoning laws, the suit claims.


Nitrogen hypoxia, which has been used only once for capital punishment in the United States, has been added as a method of execution in Louisiana, but many questions about what a nitrogen gas death entails are unanswered.

The state has not released a protocol for how the gas will be delivered during an execution.
