Good evening,

Good evening,

Downer’s ICAC troubles continue, but its stake in Repurpose It is getting plenty of attention.

Street Talk’s spotted PEP, Veolia and Igneo hanging round the hoop, but Cleanaway has taken a look and tapped out.

Repurpose It is the latest in waste/recycling businesses to hit the auction block. We also checked in on another - biogas outfit LMS Energy where bankers hoping to drum up $400 million odd bids were having some trouble breaking into Deloitte’s selective marketing.

Of course, the Big Kahuna in waste auctions is still Macquarie’s $2.3 billion buyout of Bingo Industries. But the sector’s been getting plenty of attention from core-plus types recently including Igneo’s $1.76 billion winning bid for Waste Management NZ.

Elsewhere, we spotted PEP in final stages of picking up Hart Sport in a bolt-on acquisition, a Melbourne-based Young Rich Lister’s start-up was stitching up a SPAC deal for a Nasdaq listing, and Twiggy’s Tenmile was tipping into a Bell Potter pre-IPO deal.

Happy reading,

Sarah Thompson, Kanika Sood and Emma Rapaport
