Today's message is a quick overview of some summery fun coming through TinkerLab right now.

JULY ART CHALLENGE

While we're halfway through July, it's definitely not too late to join the July Art Challenge. Gather paper or a sketchbook and some mark-making tools, and use the daily word as inspiration for your creations. The intention is to create freely and intuitively, and no special skills are necessary. I like to get up early and doodle before the rest of my house wakes up (a little time to myself - bliss!), and also enjoy collaborating on pieces with my kids.

DIY WATER WALL

If your little one needs to cool off (while having fun, obviously!), making a water wall is one the more popular summer TinkerLab projects. Kids get to cool off, explore gravity, and generally muck about with water. You can recreate this with a fence, screws, drill and water bottles.

CLASSIC SUMMER CAMP CRAFTS

If you have an older preschooler or elementary age child, these eleven summer camp crafts are indeed classic, with ideas you'll likely remember from your own childhood. Think friendship bracelets, sand casting, and God's Eyes.
