As we approach a stretch of 70-degree days, summer is on the mind. Well, in time for summer break is news that most K-12 students in Ohio are now eligible for $1,000 to pay for activities, including summer camps, tutoring, music and language lessons. A new state law went into effect last week, increasing the Afterschool Child Enrichment program from $500 to $1,000 per student. The income threshold to qualify also was adjusted to include more children. And students in districts that struggle with chronic absenteeism or low standardized test performance are eligible regardless of family income. Enjoy the sunshine today. - Kristen Davis |
