June is LGBT Pride Month We will have two special events this month highlighting LGBT issues. First, we will host a film discussion of Moonlight on June 13. Moonlight chronicles the childhood, adolescence, and burgeoning adulthood of a young, African-American, gay man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami. Please register for this event, and then pick up a copy of the movie from the Library. Our second event will be The Laramie Project on June 29. Members of the Frankfort Performing Arts Ensemble will perform selections from this play, which chronicles the reaction to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a 21 year-old, gay, University of Wyoming student. NEW Genealogy Conversations We’ll begin hosting Genealogy Conversations Monday, June 26, at 5:30pm in the Library Community Room. Come talk about what you’re currently working on, your successes, and your brick walls.
