News, products, marketing and merchandising tips for the front end of community pharmacies
| Reverse, reverse
We all get into a routine. Thankfully, Ground Hog Day was yesterday so don't worry about getting stuck in that routine. OTC buyers order products by working on one side of the store and making their way to the opposite end. It's funny, but as soon as you think you are running out of time, you start to go faster, and that is why items at the end of the walk get overlooked. Today, and from now on, one day of the week, let's pick Thursday, review your inventory by going in reverse. Those of you who have auto-replenishment are not off the hook. Stolen items, misplaced items, and miss-scanned items never get reorders. Start this Thursday to review and reorder missing items.

Immunization season is all year round, but as respiratory virus season starts to dwindle, rebrand your immunization administration space as a health and wellness consultation area. Offer your patients or patient caregivers personalized advice on vitamins, supplements, and other wellness aids. This not only adds value to your patient interactions but also increases the likelihood of additional sales.
| | Shelfie-Worthy Displays
Encourage your customers to snap "shelfies" with your awesome displays. Create themed showcases like "Health Heroes" or "Wellness Wizards." This not only boosts engagement but turns your merchandise into social media sensations, attracting new customers and adding to your profits.
| | Customer-Centric Creations
Get to know your customers and tailor your merchandise accordingly. If you have a booming baby boom in the neighborhood, curate a section dedicated to tiny tots. Personalization equals customer loyalty, and customer loyalty equals repeat business!
