Lots of people talk about letting nature take its course, not messing with nature. Meaning, keep forests pure and wild. Keep the water and air clean. Don’t destroy wildlife habitats. Generally be a good steward for Mother Nature.
But what’s true for Mother Nature is also true for you. You, reading this right now, also possess a nature. And you need to respect it.
When things aren’t going well in a natural habitat, it’s often because we are interfering with the way things naturally unfold. Likewise, when things aren’t going well in your own life, it’s often because you are not respecting your own nature.
Forcing yourself to work a certain way when you work better another way.
Making a relationship persist despite the members simply not gelling, only clashing.
Sticking with a college major/job/sport that you really aren't suited for.
This is going to look different for everyone. Every person has a unique genetic profile and epigenetic background. They live in different environments, with different people, and have different upbringings. Human nature isn’t constant, so what works for me might not work for you. But everybody has a nature within them; everybody contains some intrinsic qualities, some primal guidelines deep down that inform the way things are supposed to unfold in their life.
So I can’t tell you what exactly to do—other than the basic stuff that I talk about in the Primal Blueprint. What I can tell you is to respect your nature. Determine your natural inclinations and then pursue them with great haste and urgency.
I’d love to hear from you. How have you determined what your nature is, and how has respecting and adhering to it improved your life?
