PRIMAL BLUEPRINT
Mark Sisson with Coffee Cup

Hey there, Happy Sunday.

The other day someone asked me why I still work, given that I don't "have to" anymore from a financial standpoint. What drives me to keep going?

This turned out to actually be a very timely question. Recently, I signed back on with Primal Kitchen, extending my contract for another five years on top of what I was already in for. They weren't sure if I had reason to do it, but it wasn't even a question in my mind. Of course I was going to continue building this brand, bringing these incredible products into more homes and more diets, and doing the same thing I've been doing for over a decade now: Introducing novel yet age-old perspectives on health, fitness, diet, and life.

Sure, I don't need the money. I'm in a very fortunate position. And that's exactly what makes me realize I have to keep doing this. I don't need the money and yet I wake up every morning thinking about the work. I wake up energized. When you have something like that, you don't give it up. I had to sign.

It doesn't have to be some "big" undertaking like running a successful food and health brand. It could be anything that energizes you. Carpentry. Jiu jitsu. Your grandkids. Practicing law. Teaching. CrossFit. Triathlons. Writing. Selling. Law enforcement. Farming, ranching. Running your own business. Helping someone else run their business. Personal training. Drawing, hiking, climbing, dog walking. Everyone has something, even if they don't know it yet. Everyone has a reason (or, more likely, reasons) to get up in the morning and engage with the world.

And that's the key to it all. That's how you make it.

That's why I keep going. It's why I signed back on.

What makes you keep going?

Tell me all about it in the comment section of New and Noteworthy.
