Hi, there. I’m back from a quick trip to Atlanta last week, where we met with a couple of clients and wrapped up a few writing and publishing projects. This week, I delivered two manuscripts to publishers for the first round of edits on a couple of exciting works that will be out next year. Our team is busily working with a fascinating and diverse group of thought leaders on all kinds of interesting topics, including relationships, Santa Claus, investing, and art. We have so many cool books coming out, and I look forward to telling you about them! It’s still warm here in Tennessee, but cool enough that we are now sleeping with the windows open at night (yet still waking up a little sweaty in the morning). All that to say, change is happening in and around us, and soon it will be autumn. The podcast and newsletter team and I are getting ready to wrap up another season of Hey, Creator! and will have the final episode ready for you in the next week or so. If you are behind on any issue or episode, you can catch up at heycreator.com. And since this is a newsletter, here several more updates you may have missed, or at least deserve a repeat: Mike Kim and I are doing a live, free training on how to plan a bestselling book before you begin writing it. This will be a fun and dynamic conversation where we will share what we did with Mike’s book You Are the Brand to make it a two-time bestseller, and how you can do the same with your next project. Our writing and editing agency Fresh Complaint has a handful of spots opening up this fall and winter. If you’re looking for help with your next writing project—developing a book proposal, writing a book, or editing and publishing what you’ve already written—we’d love to hear from you. To find out more, fill out this form. If you missed it, I recently appeared on the Overcoming Odds podcast and had a blast chatting with my new pal Oleg about decisions, stories, and how we truly change our lives for the better. Tune in to our conversation here. I believe I mentioned this before, but if you haven’t pre-ordered Joey Cofone’s new book on creativity, you really are missing out. I received an early version of it this week, and it is seriously one of the best-designed books I have ever seen. I am so impressed by what the folks at BaronFig are doing. It’s really something. Lastly, speaking of books, our client David Molnar is releasing his first at the end of this month, and as soon as he announced it, it became an instant bestseller on Amazon with 3000+ preorders! This is the first photography book our team has worked on, and it would make a beautiful gift for the aspiring photographer in your family, or for anyone who’s interested in learning how to go pro with their camera. Check out Learning to See and pre-order it now so you can have it when it releases in a few weeks. All right. I think that’s enough for now. Have a great weekend! Ours will be full of soccer games, farmers' markets, time with friends, and relaxing on the front porch.
