'An unprecedented hosting': City leaders are declaring New Orleans the real winner of Super Bowl LIX, after the Crescent City garnered praise from fans, media and the NFL for hosting a flawless event. Still, some local businesses said the boom never materialized for them. Stephanie Riegel has the story.
NOPD rankings: Promotions at the NOPD were paused for months after its ranking system came under fire amid allegations of bias and cheating from Mayor LaToya Cantrell and an anonymous complaint. Now, as Jillian Kramer reports, the agency is “back on track” to advance its ranks.
Returning to executions: Louisiana has approved a protocol for executions by nitrogen hypoxia, which will allow death sentences to be carried out again after nearly 15 years. Meghan Friedmann has the details.
