Between coronavirus, the lockdowns, the widespread civil unrest, and the presidential election, it has been a hectic year for Americans. With all this going on, its hard to keep an eye on the empire. But not for us. As the US war machine keeps chugging along, Antiwar.com is the place you can consistently find critical coverage and analysis of US foreign policy.

As Joe Biden stacks his cabinet with interventionists, the Iran hawks in the Trump administration are working on their last-minute escalations. Nowis not the time for partisanship.

December marks the 25th anniversary of Antiwar.com. Through Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump, our staff has spoken out against the wars. A Biden administration will be no different for us. Judging by his cabinet picks and unwillingness to promise an end to the wars in Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq, we have our work cut out for us.

Despite all this, there is some hope with Biden. Theres a chance he will end US support for the Saudis slaughter in Yemen and return to diplomacy with Iran, abandoning the Trump administrations failed "maximum pressure" campaign that has hobbled Irans economy. You might consider us naïve for being hopeful on these issues, but we would not have survived 25 years of speaking out against the empire on cynicism alone. Noninterventionist policies and ideas need to be encouraged, no matter where they come from.

Throughout the Trump years, Antiwar.com has been one of the few places where you can read about the presidents escalations in the Middle East. President Trump has been labeled an "isolationist" even as he dropped a record number of bombs on Somalia, Yemen, and Afghanistan.

At the same time, Antiwar.com has promoted Trumps rhetoric about ending "endless wars" because to us its not about partisan politics. Unfortunately, the rhetoric didnt amount to much.

While Trump had the right instincts and faced enormous pressure from the establishment to continue the wars, he sabotaged himself by hiring the wrong people, and not moving quickly enough. His last-minute Pentagon shakeup still leaves thousands of troops in Afghanistan for the incoming administration.

The Middle East is just one theater of the empire that Antiwar.com covers. The 2018 National Defense Strategy outlined the US militarys shift away from counter terrorism in the Middle East towards so-called "great power competition" with China and Russia.

At Antiwar.com, we track all of the empires escalations, whether theyre in East Asia, North Africa, or South America.

But we cant do it without your support. Help us keep tabs on the War Party and continue our non-partisan coverage of the empire.
