Bunuru

It's time to brace for scorching temperatures and hot easterly winds as the weather heats up through February and March. It's also a sign we're entering Bunuru, the Nyungar season of second summer and adolescence. This season invites coastal living, so head west to cool down in the refreshing sea breeze. Keep an eye out for the blooming white gums like Kardan (Marri) and Djiraly (Jarrah), and the striking female Zamia (Macrozamia riedlei) cones with their vibrant red seeds. Enjoy the warmth and the vibrant beauty of Bunuru!
