Sustainable Living Events 


The City’s 2020 January to June Sustainable Living Events Series has now been launched, it’s packed full of more than 50 fun community events suitable for young and old. 

Start the year off fresh and book into our Money Wellness Saturday 18 January, or explore the Coogee Maritime Trail with a guided family snorkel Sunday 9 February.

Events and workshops are designed to inspire a more thoughtful and sustainable life and are subsidised by the City.

Nearer to Nature




 
We have teamed up with Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions for two exciting events for youth in Cockburn.

Wednesday 8 January 8am-midday
Shipwreck Snorkelling 
Explore the Omeo wreck with a qualified snorkelling guide. Age: 8-14 years

Tuesday 21 January 10am-midday
Life Underwater
Discover what lives underwater and what special adaptations help them to survive. Age: 5-8.

Sustainability Grants

The City’s Sustainability Grants for 2020 will be launched early January with all applications due by 31 March 2020.

This grant provides a unique opportunity for groups to implement a diverse range of sustainability projects in the community that help create a better tomorrow. With up to $4,000 available per application the options are up to your imagination!

Get Wild About Wetlands Holiday Program

The January school holiday program is now available for bookings. These holiday events are suitable for children aged 5 - 16 years.

Enjoy a guided walk and breakfast with the birds (9 Jan), put on your detective hat and discover who lives at Bibra Lake (16 Jan). Give local wildlife a home and enjoy morning tea (17 Jan), or learn how to observe and record the living world through art and science (29 Jan).

Book in for them all if you want!

Native ARC Holiday Program


Does your family love nature and caring for wildlife? Join Native ARC these school holidays for two exciting wildlife and nature based-activities!

Friday 10 January
Nocturnal Ninjas 7-9pm
What animals might you encounter after dark in the Beeliar Wetlands? Join us for a night stalk!  
 
Wednesday 15 January
Reptile Awareness 
10am-midday
Get up close to some amazing native reptiles found in our local bush land.

All events $5/child (under 5 free). Suitable for children aged 5 - 12 years. This program is a partnership between the City and Native ARC Inc.
