Clean Ocean Cuppas
Would you like a free coffee on your morning walk? Collect a bucket of litter from the beach in return for a free coffee from one of six cafes as part of the Clean Ocean Cuppas campaign. Don’t forget to stamp your loyalty card as the resident with the most stamps wins a $100 gift voucher from any participating café!

Beach Bins
Over 2 tonnes of litter (more than 60,0000 pieces) was collected between C.Y. O’Connor and Ammo Jetty from 2013-17. The City have installed more bins to help our community dispose of all rubbish correctly to prevent it from entering our coastal environment.

Commercial Food Waste Trial
For the past four months, local restaurants and food retailers have taken part in a food waste trial which harnesses methane from donated food waste and converts it into electricity. The 22 businesses have diverted more than 21 tonnes of food waste from landfill! The City is now looking for new food retailers and restaurants to join the extended trial.
