Brands are approaching Pride Month more quietly

Brands seem to be decreasing their investment in Pride Month this year, marketing experts say, including RanaVerse's Rana Reeves, who notes last year's boycotts and backlashes might be stopping marketers from launching early campaigns, preferring to wait instead until June. Michael Wilke, founder of AdRespect.org, notes that despite a quieter Pride Month, inclusive LGBTQ+ marketing is becoming more prevalent, saying, "To be authentic, you don't just go into the month of whoever to be inclusive, you do it year-round."

Single-family rents gained 3.4% on a year-over-year basis in March, according to CoreLogic, although rents for single-family attached properties such as townhomes declined. Meanwhile, apartment rents rose 0.5% in April but were down 0.8% from the prior year, with the trend driven by an influx of new supply, according to Apartment List.

During a meeting that ended earlier this month, Federal Reserve officials indicated that interest rates may need to stay higher for longer than initially expected to tame inflation and considered the impact that monetary policy is having on the economy and price pressures.
