NEWS: Shortly Before Opening Arguments Were to Begin, Sutter Health Settles Antitrust Case

SAN FRANCISCO – Sutter Health has reached a tentative settlement agreement in a closely watched antitrust case brought by self-funded employers, and later joined by the California Attorney General’s Office.

There were audible cheers from the jury when the settlement was announced. The trial had been expected to last three months.

Sutter had been accused of violating California's antitrust laws by using its market power to drive up prices illegally.
