Bobby Finke, Leah Smith Earn 800 Freestyle Wins at TYR Pro Swim Series Westmont

The third stop of the 2023 TYR Pro Swim Series began Wednesday afternoon in Westmont, Ill., with 800 freestyle competition, and a pair of U.S. veterans picked up comfortable victories. In the men’s race, Bobby Finke swam to a four-second win over Charlie Clark while Leah Smith finished well ahead of the women’s field.

Richards had not broken any of the three barriers prior to last week’s British Championships, but in the span of four days, he went 47.72 in the 100 free, 21.98 in the 50 free and 1:44.83 in the 200 free.
