USA Swimming Confirms Indianapolis Will Host 2024 Olympic Swimming Trials

Prior to each of the past four Summer Olympics, USA Swimming has selected its team at an eight-day Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., at a venue known as the Qwest Center (2008), CenturyLink Center (2012 & 2016) and CHI Health Center (2021). In a swimming configuration, the venue could seat about 12,000 spectators. For 2024, however, the Trials will be on the move. According to a report from the Indianapolis Star, the Trials will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.

Amy Rieger: A Coach is Paramount, Episode #142

The key to staying active as you age is finding something you love to do -- and record-holding masters swimmer Amy Rieger is proof. She joins the show to talk about her swimming routine, the role social interaction plays in her motivation and why she won’t swim without a coach.

Amy Rieger is a US Masters Swimming national record holder, USMS All-Star for the Year 2021, and a woman that had six #1 FINA world rankings in 2021 in the women’s age group 60-64. The most amazing part is that she only competed in 10 swim meets prior to 2021.

2022 NCAA Men’s Division I Championships continued with the final day of the meet from the McAuley Aquatic Center on the Campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

NCAA records were set, history was made and championships were won.

Maggie Mac Neil Will be Graduate Transfer at Cal

Olympic gold medalist Maggie Mac Neil will take her extra year of NCAA eligibility out west.

Mac Neil announced she will be a graduate student at Cal and swim one year for the Golden Bears.

“I’m so beyond excited to announce that I will be moving out west to finish up my NCAA eligibility. I feel so lucky to be able to pursue a masters degree at the University of California Berkeley, while continuing to swim at the highest level! Happy to be moving away from the snow for this new chapter!”

University of Arizona Swimmers Write Letter to NCAA on Lia Thomas

Following last week’s NCAA Women’s Championships, when Penn swimmer Lia Thomas captured the NCAA title in the 500 freestyle and swam in two other championship finals, members of the swimming community continue to issue public statements on the controversial presence of Thomas, a transgender female, at the women’s meet. The latest comments come from a group of University of Arizona swimmers that includes longtime head coach and USA Swimming national team director Frank Busch and 2008 Olympian Lacey Nymeyer, plus others from the Wildcats’ 2008 national championship group.
