Official Dates Announced for 2028 Olympic Games In Los Angeles

Official Dates Announced for 2028 Olympic Games In Los Angeles

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti appeared together in the Southern California city on Monday to announce the official dates of the 2028 Olympic Games. When the Games come to Los Angeles for the third time (1932/1984), they will run from July 14 through July 30. These dates are a week earlier than what was suggested in the bid book submitted by L.A. 2028.

Katie Ledecky Wins ESPY Award for Best Athlete in Female Sports; Caeleb Dressel Also Wins ESPY

The best swimmer in the world over the past decade has been recognized as the top female athlete in the United States over the past year. At the ESPY Awards held Wednesday evening in Los Angeles, Katie Ledecky received the award for Best Athlete in Female Sports. She was named the honoree over a field of nominees that included Olympic gold medalist gymnast Suni Lee, Paralympic superstar Oksana Masters and WNBA star Candace Parker.

Qualifying Times Are Fast as Olympic Procedures Announced For Paris 2024

FINA has released the full slate of qualifying procedures for aquatic events for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. There will be 852 athletes competing in the 35 pool swimming events in Paris, and the swimming competition at Paris La Defense Arena will be held July 27 through August 4, spanning nine days for the first time.

Australia Reveals Leisel Jones and Grant Hackett Will Serve as Duel in the Pool Captains

In his first chapter of international racing, Carson Foster was a 200 backstroke specialist. Long before he became the top American medley swimmer with a pair of silver medals at the World Championships, a 15-year-old Foster swam at the 2017 World Junior Championships in Indianapolis and captured a silver medal in the 200 backstroke (behind a future rival in collegiate swimming, Spain’s Hugo Gonzalez).
