Good morning Voornaam,

Continuity has been the big topic of conversation in Scottish politics this week - continuity of leadership (John Swinney has already served as SNP leader in opposition and as Nicola Sturgeon's deputy) and continuity in Cabinet where the only significant change is the reintroduction of Kate Forbes. But what about Independence? Well in one of his first acts as FM, Mr Swinney has scrapped the Minister for Independence role previously occupied by Jamie Hepburn. Watch this space.

Five stories to start the day

- Swinney scraps independence minister in Scottish Government shakeup

- Kirk calls for 'united' effort on climate as crisis meeting held in Edinburgh

- Anger over 'lavish' £120m quango bill on public relations and consultants

- Piers Morgan to interview woman thought to be Baby Reindeer's real life Martha

- Hay's Way - A farm that has to purify mains water supply for the land
