Switzerland Tourism proudly accepted this year’s prestigious Virtuoso award for ‘Tourism Board of the Year 2023’ at the annual Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas. This is the fifth time Switzerland Tourism has won the award in the last ten years (2013, 2014, 2018, 2019 & 2023).

January to June 2023 overnight figures for North America show that Switzerland remains a big hit for Americans and Canadians and are up 20.3% compared to the record year 2019 (January to June). We would like to thank you for selling Switzerland and we are very grateful for your vote.

Schilthorn - Piz Gloria a 007 experience.

 

The 9,744 feet above sea level (2,970-meter a.s.l.) Schilthorn offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and more than 200 other peaks. The Schilthorn became famous as a location for the 1969 James Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. The revolving restaurant at the summit, which rotates around its own axis once every 45 minutes, owes its current name Piz Gloria to the film production. Interested visitors can follow in James Bond’s footsteps in the interactive Bond World exhibition or on the 007 Walk of Fame. The Skyline Walk at the Birg middle station lets you stare into the abyss below.
