A number of former hackers at the NSA have jumped to the defence of the spy agency after a highly critical article in the New York Times.

Unified communications vendor Avaya has seen a dip in revenue during the second quarter of fiscal 2019, with the company saying it earned US$709 million, a fall of 3.9% from the first quarter, and adding that it was exploring a buyout.

Symantec president and chief executive Greg Clark has suddenly left his post before a permanent replacement was in place, with the company naming director Richard Hill as a temporary fill-in. Clark was the fifth top executive to quit in the last six months, amid falling sales.
