New platform for Archiware P5

As of November 2nd, Archiware P5 Version 5.3.3 supports Synology NAS systems.

The Synology device can be set up as a client and is then eligible as both data source and target for P5 Synchronize, P5 Backup and P5 Archive.

Powerful enterprise Synology NAS systems can also host the P5 server itself. Thanks to the DSM platform and its snapshot capability, they are well suited as a backup repository for Backup2Go. 

 A special installer package for Synology NAS devices is available from our Download page.

P5 Archive App and FCP X 10.3

Just over a week ago, Apple released version 10.3 of Final Cut Pro X.

We're proud to announce that our one-click archiving tool P5 Archive App is not only compatible with this new version, but now also offers a set of great new features: 

• export complete Final Cut Pro X Libraries using a shared destination.
• include metadata for all clips in the library
• select all or a subset of these metadata to be stored in P5 Archive
• search for media inside P5 Archive by searching for their Final Cut Pro metadata

Native integration in Cantemo Portal 3.0

On October 24th, our partner Cantemo released the latest version of Portal MAM.

New features of Portal 3.0 include better responsiveness and security, enhanced user interfaces, Elemental transcoder integration and a native integration with Archiware P5 Archive. Find out more in their video introduction.

Customers currently using the CP Archive App can switch to the new integration free of charge, and a migration path is available. For more information, please contact info@cantemo.com.

Discontinuations and Roadmap

As of October 21st, we no longer supply the product MediaLTFS.
Support for the product continues until June 30th, 2017.

With release of Archiware P5 version 5.4, we will end support for cloning to the cloud using P5 Synchronize and WingFS.
The feature is currently being re-designed and will return as a native integration in future versions of P5.

To better inform our partners and customers about our development roadmap, we have created a new section on our Release Notes web page:
"Planned features" informs you about upcoming products and functions - including the projected version, if already definite.
"Discontinuations" holds information on products and features we do not or will not support from a certain point in time.
