Breathe

We often feel the need to rush and accomplish everything as quickly as possible. However, in the world of technology and entrepreneurship, taking your time is just as important as working hard – and understanding what you're doing.

Rushing into a new project or investment without properly evaluating the risks and benefits can lead to costly mistakes and missed opportunities for folks. Technology and the surrounding industry constantly evolve, so to stay ahead of the curve, it's crucial to take your time and carefully analyze your options.

Similarly, entrepreneurship requires a great deal of patience and persistence. By taking the time to rest, pour into your practice with continuing education or even find the right mentors, you can maintain your focus and productivity over the long term.

As members of the technology and entrepreneurship community, it is important to remember the value of prioritizing your health (and the health of your organization or company) by pacing yourself and your pursuits to achieve long-term success and fulfillment.

For today’s nod to women in tech, I’ll remind everyone of a quote from Reshma Saujani, the CEO of Girls Who Code:

“Perfectionism prevents us from taking double steps in our career. We think we have to be perfect, but we don’t.”
