The mayor's travel: Following recent trips Mayor LaToya Cantrell took to France and Switzerland for ceremonial sister-city events, the New Orleans City Council has moved to restrict on "non-essential" city travel. The council's proposed ordinance notes that the city "continues to operate under unprecedented circumstances resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, record inflation, and a spike in violent crime."
