Bringing together executives from both Virgin Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition, the team is composed of Vanessa Rothery, Shannon Byrne, Abigail Trangmar, Julia Grishkova, and Peter D'Elia, and is led by vice president of global sales Maya Latinovic. CAMBRIDGE, MD: Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is debuting a new virtual golf simulator, developed by TruGolf, at its River Marsh Golf Club. Golfers can play 18 holes, practice on a driving range, or have a closest-to-the-pin contest. With a wide selection of iconic courses and game modes from which to choose, the high-quality graphics, ball tracking, and immersive features allow golfers to have a close-to-reality golfing experience from the comfort of the River Marsh Clubhouse. CHICAGO: Oak View Group named Samuel R. Thomas Jr. as senior vice president and general manager of the McCormick Place campus. With over three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Thomas will also oversee operations and services for the McCormick Place Convention Center. The industry veteran will relocate to Chicago from Washington, D.C., at the start of September to begin his new role. LAS VEGAS: Chef and restaurateur Michael Mina plans to introduce Orla this winter in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Orla, a restaurant set to blend both the flavors of the Mediterranean and Greece with those of the Middle East, means “golden princess” in Greek, suiting its plan to transport guests into a realm of ancient traditions. SAN ANTONIO: Visit San Antonio has announced staff updates. Amanda Tutor has been promoted to national sales manager and will be responsible for handling the Texas in-house market. Additionally, Brenda Berrones joins Visit San Antonio as a member of its sales team as a national sales manager for the mid-Atlantic market that covers Washington, D.C.; Maryland; Virginia; Delaware; and West Virginia.
