Tap Into Your Creativity Virtual Classes
Virtual classes start the week of September 7, and there's so much to choose from! Join Wilmington artist and papermaker Fritzi Huber for East Meets West: Paper from Belden to Noguchi. With 45 years of papermaking experience, Fritzi Huber will share her perspective on the history and use of selected papers, following the thread of history beginning with CAM's beautiful exhibition of Noguchi's works, then travel from East to West, to the Belden installation. Or you can join Luc Travers and Anne Brennan for an immersive look at the work of two artists influenced by their lives and experiences in North Carolina: Claude Howell (American, 1915-1997) and Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988). If you're interest in honing your craft, check out September Krueger's drawing class, Jeri Greenberg's pastel painting class, or Janice Castiglione's watercolor class. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, there's something for everyone in CAM's new virtual classes. Connect with friends and the art community in a relaxing, inspiring, and supportive virtual environment. Visit our website and browse classes for September and October in drawing, printmaking, watercolor, creative writing, and much more for all ages and levels.
New Youth Classes CAM announces new youth art classes! Taught by Georgia Mastroieni and September Krueger, virtual youth classes are designed to meet the needs of home-school students and traditional students outside of the classroom. Each session combines current exhibitions with works in our permanent collection to address a variety of themes. Our program allows for inquiry and discussion of the arts and artists, and is aligned with North Carolina standards. Your child will explore different media over the 8-week session for either elementary or middle school groups - and have a lot of fun! | | Give the Gift of Art Missing your friends and family? Give them the gift of an art class at CAM and you can join them virtually to socialize and create. Art classes make great gifts for your loved ones! | | Tuition You Can Feel Good About Your tuition for virtual classes goes directly to help CAM's bottom line. CAM has been closed for 5 months and continues to lose at least $50,000 a month. Closure means that almost all of our earned income streams are cut. By taking a virtual class or gifting one to a loved one, you are helping to ensure that your museum will be here for the future.
| Resources for Educators and Home-School Families CAM has published two booklets of lesson plans for teachers and home-school families that are aligned with core curriculum. | | | | Come Learn About CAM's Virtual Resources and Virtual Tours! Free Virtual Night for Educators Tuesday, September 8, 4-5 PM | Free Virtual Night for Families Wednesday, September 9, 4-5 PM | | |
