More rain expected from Nicholas
with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editorLSU President William F. Tate will be at the White House this afternoon to talk about the university's effort to battle COVID-19. He was invited up to talk about the school's vaccine mandate and also the requirement that football fans prove they're as safe as can reasonably be expected. We've had a break in the rains from what was Hurricane Nicholas today, but forecasters say more bad weather is possible. About 4.5 inches of rain fell out in the newspaper's neighborhood since the rains started. A flash flood watch is up through tomorrow morning. And, back at LSU, the school says fraternities and sororities will be allowed to tailgate on the Parade Ground again, starting this weekend. They had been banned since 2018, after fallout from the Max Gruver death and amid worries from insurance companies. Caroline Savoie is working that story and filed this early report. |
