Updates to the capital gains inclusion rate

Since the Federal Budget on April 16, taxpayers and advisors have been anxiously awaiting an update to capital gains inclusion rate legislation – and that update has finally arrived. The Notice of Ways and Means Motion (“NWMM”) was tabled June 10, 2024, introducing new capital gains inclusion rate legislation related to and expanding upon the Budget 2024 proposals in this area.
