NATIONAL HEADLINESThe charges against TrumpHouse Democrats are expected to unveil two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning. One will be on abuse of power, while the other will deal with obstruction of Congress [Washington Post]. No plot against TrumpThe long-awaited Department of Justice inspector general report into the origins of the Russia probe found that the FBI had sufficient evidence to open the investigation, but it was not influenced by political bias. The report also said the controversial Steele dossier was not the genesis of the investigation. However, the report did conclude the FBI made serious errors in the documents used to justify surveillance of an official on Donald Trump's campaign [New York Times]. Attorney General William Barr contradicted many of the key findings of the report, saying it showed the FBI launched an "intrusive investigation" into the Trump campaign on the "thinnest of suspicions" [CNN].
