The Taylor Swift effect has come for the five stages of grief. Late last week, the pop star released five new playlists that sorted her old songs into the famous stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. While shining a spotlight on grief is a good thing, the framework is contested among psychologists—who say it doesn't apply to everyone.
