with Drew Broach The 8-2 New Orleans Saints were scheduled to play the 4-6 Denver Broncos on Sunday. But just which Bronco will be under center was uncertain. All four Bronco quarterbacks are suddenly ineligible for the game, after one of them tested positive for the coronavirus and the other three were deemed "high risk" contacts. The Saints have pandemic problems of their own: Terron Armstead, the starting left offensive tackle, won't play against the Broncos because he, too, tested positive. And with starting left guard Andrus Peat out because of a concussion, the Saints will have second-string protection on that side of the line for quarterback Taysom Hill. Hill, however, is healthy - and is the toast of his hometown in Pocatello, Idaho. Here's how New Orleans is making lemonade out of lemons: With 2021 Mardi Gras season parades cancelled, more than 5,000 people have signed on to a nascent effort to decorate their houses like parade floats. Hmm, wonder whether those out-of-work float builders might be of help? The list of most endangered buildings and sites in New Orleans has been updated for 2020 by its compiler, the Louisiana Landmarks Society. Find out which old school campus, former church and jazz musician's house qualify this year. All that and more are in today's Front Page. As always, thanks for starting your day with us. D.B. |
