Where's Johnny Jet?

Sawatdee from Thailand! It’s past midnight here in Bangkok and I just returned from the TBEX Asia speaker’s dinner! Wow, these guys know how to throw a party! They pulled out all the stops, with everything from street food to fine dining. Even the governor of Bangkok was in attendance!

I almost missed the entire reception because traffic was so insane. It took an hour to travel less than a mile. So the six of us in the shuttle together decided to jump on those crazy motorcycle taxis—and as I jumped on the back seat, a few things flew through my head:
I pray none of us crash
I’m glad I have travel insurance (an annual plan from Allianz)
I hope my dad doesn’t find out!
It turned out to be a lot of fun whizzing around cars, but I won’t be doing that again anytime soon.

If you're following me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or Periscope, you know that I’ve had a ridiculously incredible trip so far. Last week, I sent this newsletter from Portugal’s Douro Valley and then Natalie and I flew to Doha on Qatar Airways' brand spanking new A350!
Getting to Doha wasn’t as easy as planned because our flight from Porto to Frankfurt was delayed over an hour by the French air traffic controller strike. And then I picked the wrong immigration line, as the officer took forever trying to find my European entry stamp (here’s the tip that came out of the experience). Long story short: We made it and had a fun few nights in the Middle East. Now, we're in Southeast Asia before heading to our next stop.

I still can't believe that my wife and I are doing another round-the-world trip less than a month after we completed our last one, but believe it or not, we've flown fewer miles and spent less time in the air and less money on plane tickets than many of our TBEX colleagues have. That’s because we decided not to fly back to LA from Portugal before jetting off to Bangkok.
Sponsored by Scottevest!
As I've said many times before, I'm a huge fan of Scottevest. I use their products when I travel because their multiple hidden pockets not only keep my valuables safe, but can act as an extra carry-on, as well. Check out the latest line—including the jacket I always carry with me—on this page.

Win an Allianz Go Bag (with GoPro Hero)
In honor of my second round-the-world trip this month, I was able to talk Allianz Travel Insurance (one of my sponsors) into doing a fun giveaway. One lucky winner will take home a "Go Bag" full of all kinds of cool stuff—like a GoPro camera! Here’s how to enter.
