Team dsm-firmenich PostNL claim overall GC crown in Langkawi with Max Poole After strong riding throughout the week and building off the back of their stage three success, today Team dsm-firmenich PostNL could take home the overall GC title at Le Tour de Langkawi with Max Poole. Having collected bonus seconds in earlier stages, the team and Poole went into the final day of racing with 13 of an advantage over their nearest rivals. Navigating the sprint stage well, Team dsm-firmenich PostNL helped to control the race with a dual goal of setting up finisher Casper van Uden for the finale, and keeping Poole safe; not allowing their GC opposition to take enough time back to trouble the top of the standings. In the finale, Casper got a bit boxed in and couldn’t get a clear run to the finish, leading us home just outside of the Top 10 of the day. Coming across the line in Bintulu, Poole and Team dsm-firmenich PostNL could celebrate a great GC victory. It’s the young talent’s, who came through the team’s highly successful Development program, first overall title. With Poole’s victory it means 18 professional wins have been taken by graduates from that program in 2024; something that Team dsm-firmenich PostNL is incredibly proud of.
