Team Sunweb bolster squad as Nikias Arndt and Florian Stork extend contracts

Team Sunweb are pleased to strengthen their squad, with German duo Nikias Arndt and Florian Stork both extending their contract with the Men's program, riding in the team's colours until the end of 2022.
Nikias Arndt (GER)
Since turning professional with the team in 2013, Arndt has developed into one of the best road captains in the peloton while consistently building a collection of highlights and wins. Two of those personal highlights are victories at the highest level of the sport, with a stage win at Giro d’Italia in 2016 and another at the Vuelta a España in 2019. As a dedicated team captain, Arndt is always happy to work for others and enjoys his role as a lead out rider, having helped the team’s sprinters to several victories throughout the years. Arndt started the year strongly, with good performances at the Volta ao Algarve and Paris-Nice where he helped Cees Bol and Tiesj Benoot to stage wins respectively.

Florian Stork (GER)
A product of Development Team Sunweb, Stork was promoted to the WorldTour with the Men’s program in March of 2019. Making a seamless transition into the professional peloton as a strong all-rounder, he soon settled into domestique duties – always working consistently and ably to help set up the team. A versatile rider Stork has shown his power and pedigree by working on the flat in sprint stages, such as pulling back breaks at the Tour of Britain, while also showing his ability to go up hills – with great work at a successful Herald Sun Tour for the team at the start of 2020. At just 23 years old, Stork is happy to stay with Team Sunweb, continuing to develop and learn from the team’s coaches and experts.
