Hi friends, Ted here.
As we settle into this new year, I wanted to take an opportunity to tell you all what's going on over here in M&Sville. We are just about recovered from the Wilder Mind world tour, which was our most extensive to date. We had the immense joy of visiting South Africa and South America for the first time - both places we hope to visit many more times in the future. For most of us, last year was a bit weird. The world seems to have sped up and things started to feel a bit frantic. The four of us have reacted in the only way we know how - we got together to write and play some music in London just before Christmas and I can't tell you what a joy it was. Being a part of a band surely supplies you with a ready and waiting environment to unite and collaborate and make, however, in my time off I have discovered the world is littered with such opportunities if you take a good look. I and two fine fellows close to the heart of Mumford and Sons, Marcus Haney (our tour photographer) and Ross Stirling (who does all the band's art work) have teamed up to make a publishing company that aims to see the creative output of our friends printed and bound into books. Our first offering started with a Symphony written by my dear friend Paul Frith. It chronicles the Ernest Shackleton journey south and you can read all about it below. I have also been building a new Camera Obscura in which to make more portraits with our drummer Chris Maas, as well as helping out at a charity who help school kids in the city understand the importance of nature. Read more about it here. All four of us have been busy in our various ways and as these quarterly mailers progress, you will have a chance to hear from each of us. So we step into our tenth year as a band with open hearts and excitement. We look forward to seeing some of you at a show this summer and we hope that for all of you, 2017 will offer opportunities to get together and share the good things! T x |
