Hello,

Monday lunchtime is when we round up the news you might have missed at the weekend.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man died in hospital following a stabbing in Preston.

Police were called to a report of an assault in Raikes Road at around 6.25pm on Friday.

A 27-year-old man from Preston was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment but later died.

Police have confirmed a teenager has been charged with murder and is appearing in Preston Magistrates’ Court today.

Elsewhere, a Preston village which has become a hotbed for housing development will see several dozen more properties added to its tally after a new estate was given the go-ahead by councillors.

A 44-home estate is to be built on land south of Whittingham Lane in Broughton, just off the Broughton bypass.

Finally, we’ve got all the best of the final days of the Lytham Festival, and some stunning shots of the Red Arrows flying over Lancashire among other headlines.

Thanks for reading,

Adam
